OceanSphere Marine · Onboard Edition

AI Knowledge. On Board. Offline.

In a breakdown the first thirty minutes decide. ShipMind gives your crew the right manual page in seconds — in their own language, with the source cited, without a satellite link. And the knowledge stays on board when the crew changes.

Built by the team behind maritimenetwork.io 167,000+ maritime companies mapped in our open directory We run this AI stack ourselves — every day, on our own GPUs
A problem everyone knows

Technical manuals sit in binders or as PDFs on a laptop. In a fault situation the search costs hours the ship does not have. Answers from shore arrive with delay — and every misdiagnosis can turn a fault into damage with unplanned off-hire.

ShipMind makes your archive queryable

Upload your OEM manuals, maintenance logs and technical drawings. ShipMind indexes them locally and answers technical questions directly — with source reference and page number.

Up and running in three steps

01
Upload manuals

Upload PDFs — including scanned manuals without a text layer. OCR processes scan pages automatically.

02
Ask a question

Ask technical questions in natural language: clear faults, maintenance intervals, oil specifications, certificate requirements.

03
Answer with source

ShipMind replies with the exact manual reference (document + page). Without sufficient source — no answer.

Every answer backed by a source. Manual name and page number. No guessing.

Safety, cost, continuity.

A ship does not buy software. It buys fewer breakdowns, fewer mistakes and a crew that can work — whoever is on board this rotation.

Faster fault diagnosis

When the main engine alarms at 03:00 mid-ocean, the first thirty minutes decide whether it stays a fault or becomes damage. ShipMind gives the duty engineer the right manual page in seconds — no satellite link, no waiting for shore.

Fewer costly mistakes

Wrong oil specification, wrong torque, a skipped step under time pressure — that is how most machinery damage begins. Every repair avoided and every off-hire day avoided is money that stays with you.

The knowledge stays on board

Your crew changes every few months and the knowledge of the vessel leaves with them. ShipMind stays: it knows the manuals, the documentation and the history of this particular ship. New engineers are productive in days instead of weeks.

Every language on board

Manuals are English, German or Japanese — crews are not. ShipMind answers in the engineer's own language and still cites the original page. What is understood correctly gets done correctly.

Verifiable, not invented

Every answer carries its source: document and page. Without a source ShipMind refuses rather than guesses. That keeps the work traceable — towards class, PSC and vetting, and for your own quality records.

One place for everything

Manuals in a cabinet, PDFs on a laptop, photos on a phone, reports in somebody's mailbox. ShipMind holds it in one system on board — searchable by whoever has the watch.

What ShipMind delivers

Manual Q&A

Query OEM PDFs directly. Technical questions in DE, EN or PL.

Anti-hallucination

Every answer backed by a source. Without evidence — refusal. No guessing.

Checklists & Surveys

SIRE/VIQ-compliant inspection checklists. Record, score and export findings.

OCR for scanned docs

Scanned manuals without a text layer are fully processed via OCR.

Trilingual DE/EN/PL

Interface and answer language selectable. For international crews.

Data sovereignty offline

All data stays on board. No cloud, no data egress, no forced subscription.

Anti-Hallucination

Anti-hallucination — principle, not marketing promise

ShipMind refuses answers when no sufficient evidence is found in the indexed knowledge base. Every answer shows the manual name and page number. The system works with maritime technical language — not general knowledge. Misdiagnoses through fabricated values are prevented by design.

The anti-hallucination layer is based on RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) with a distance threshold. Answers below the confidence threshold are not output.

Frequently asked questions

What does installation take?

A standard 230 V outlet. The box arrives pre-configured — you upload your manuals in the browser and indexing runs on board. On request we set everything up on site (EU ports included in the setup price).

How do updates work without internet?

Signed update packages are installed in port — via service laptop or USB stick. Nothing is sent off the ship; there is no cloud dependency.

Who owns the data?

You do. The hardware is your property, your manuals and the index stay on board, and the system sends no telemetry.

What if the box fails?

We ship a replacement unit with the software pre-installed to your next port. Your documents stay in your hands only — we hold no copy. You upload them again, or hand them to us during on-site setup; indexing runs automatically.
